Danny Gill is a former pupil of Joe Satriani, and co-author of the Musicians Institute Rock Lead Guitar series. His songs have appeared on numerous television shows including ‘The Osbournes’ as well as motion picture soundtracks such as ‘Insomnia’ and ‘Under Siege’.
Here he plays the opening riff to the hit I Believe In a Thing Called Love by now defunct rock quartet The Darkness.

Taken from the Guitar Lick Library.

This is almost impossioble to play if you don’t know these chords.. It’s kinda hard to see which finger is on which fret and which string. But I’ll ask my guitar teacher to teach me this song instead. ha! :)

It’s not an SG. It’s part Fender Strat. At least the neck is a Strat style neck and I see a faded Fender symbol.

It’s a modified Strat body with a Floyd Rose style trem system.

    Cool vid!

Gibson/Epiphone should make a Justin Hawkins LP Custom (I’m thinking of alpine white) and a Dan Hawkins Black Shuck (Black LP Custom)!! That would be sick!

    You’re right.

The first time the A5 chord is played there’s a muted strum and a ‘real’ strum, not 2 ‘real’ strums like a lot of these lessons seem to say.

he’s playing the intro wrong. the first time the A power-cord is played it’s only 1 strum not 2
