Hi, I’m Dave Weiner. I’m a Favored Nations recording artist, a G.I.T. graduate and have been playing in Steve Vai’s band since 1999.

Every Wednesday I do a new Riff Of The Week™ guitar education video. Here’s Season 4, Episode 1 “Getcha Groove On!”

Don’t forget to view the tab, listen to the audio clips and download the backing tracks (when applicable) for this ROTW at: www.daveweiner.com/rotw.

You can find Hi-RES HD versions of this video at riffoftheweek.com or by subscribing (for free) to the ROTW podcast in ITunes (search Dave Weiner).

Interested in my music? My first cd “Shove The Sun Aside” is available on iTunes, Amazon and at www.daveweiner.com/store

Like this lesson? Want to learn more? How about a live, one on one, internet guitar lesson with me? www.daveweiner.com/lessons

Got a suggestion for a ROTW? Email it to rotw@daveweiner.com

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy!

Dave

Davey dude! You are a great teacher. If you would make a dvd with all of this, i would definetly buy it. I saw you playing with Vai on “Live at the Astoria” And i loved it. It was really great. Hope to see more of you in the future. xD

These are the best, coherent and zen-like guitar lessons i’ve ever found.Dave is
a great guy to do these seasons on you tube.

Yeah, I have a feeling a good number of people would appreciate that, myself included.

Sadly, I’m migrating away from the guitar, Dave…Chopin and Mussorksky have a hold on me, so it looks like I’m pulling a MacAlpine.

But hey, you’ve been a serious influence on me, Mr Weiner, so when I’m off on my world tour celebrating another sold-out concert in Holland soon, maybe I’ll give you a call, and we can plot nefarious schemes for our upcoming album together over cigars and cabernet…

    Right?

Very nice lesson, and so important. Keep it up. I still gotta work through ALL episodes when I have holiday. My favorite riff of yours is still from “The Ghost of Denmark St.”, at about 2:22.. the bending thing. If the new record comes any close, it’ll be a must-buy for me (and maybe some friends I have “converted”, haha)

The rock face at the end of your groove demo portion cannot be ignored as it is what brings the groove and tone together to become one:) The little grin that says–yeah–that’s what I’m talking about right there–take that:)
