Breathe worship song lesson acoustic guitar chords practice
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 4:46This is how to play “Breathe” out of key of G. To play higher for singing in higher key put capo on 2 for key A, or capo on fret 4 for key B. Also if you want to play in key of A you can play with this chord progression: A D A D A E F#m D E for the verses and A E F#m D E for the chorus
In this key I am playing it in the chords are: (intro, verse) G C G C G Em C D (x2) and for the (chorus) G D Em C D
Now you can add a few chords in there, watch some of the other people playing for the timing of the changes, but the chords would be like this:
(Verse) the # in ( ) is the number of beats to play that chord: G(4) C(4) G(4) C(4) G(2) D(2) Em (2) D(2) C(2) Em(2) D(4)
For the chorus it will be like this with the new added chords not in the video: G(2) D(2) Em (2) D(2) C(2) Em(2) D(4)

nice tip keeping the bottom two the same, I’m amazed how many chords can be played like that. I always thought chord changing was impossible till now. Also, like the song choice – nice to be able to learn some worship music and not just secular stuff, to use music to glorify god and not just for my own pleasure.

hey you left out the lines
“Oh Lord, I’m lost without You
I’m lost without You”
I’m not sure if what I’m guessing you do for those lines are right. could you just give me the chords and tell me where they go over the words?

Hey Smitty … I really want to thank you for you the time you put into helping us learn to play worship music. I’m sure it means just as to everyone else as I know it does to me. I really appreciate the way you teach and realize that a lot of us are truly just beginning. (Greetings from Germany!) – a brother in Christ

I am uploading a video on strumming, the one I did for a slow strum (using here I am to worship) will work. For this song the strum pattern would look like:
Down Down Down up Up down down up down up
For the strumming video that should be up today use the chorus strumming pattern for this song

Thank you. I learned that song in less than an hour. You took it at a very good pace. Especially wor me, who is a person who just learned how to play the guitar. Keep up the great work

Please keep posting the praise and worship songs!! I grew up playing classic rock and blues, but I have since “found a new calling” as some would say and would like to praise Him with my Music.. I still jam out a rock tune on occasion, but I really love the praise music! Thanks.

Thanks a lot, I am going to add more each day. I’m doing them in simple keys for now, but you can transpose or capo, I’ll have to teach that lesson for others who need to learn how to transpose to sing in their key, these songs may be pretty low key for singing. Send me a message with any song in particular you want to learn.

I really love this instructional video. I love the way you have taken your time and didn’t speed by to simple stuff. This is exactily what I need for my progression. Please do more of these, and thank you sooooo much for doing them. God has granted you the ability to teach, continue in this, please.
God bless
Leon
