This is my 6th week learning how to play an acoustic guitar. I am playing knocking on heavens door which I also did in week 3. I should have improved.

but remember that as you get older you dont have as much time to learn. When you are 14 you dont have stuff like a full tiime job or anything else like possibly kids that can get in the way of learning

you said it especially with the solos. They give the song some soul

I am also learning on how to play the guitar and its only been 3 weeks. I can already play that song and sound just like you. I need to move my finger from chord to chord a little faster. But you are doing great.

I started out watching DVD’s on How to play an Acoustic Guitar from the library. I then wanted a lot of how to’s on YouTube. I think the best way is to play a little everyday. I have my guitar right next to my desk at home and I will grab it and play a song and put it back down. 20mins later I may do the samething. Works for me.

Learning guitar is tough, I read manja145 comment about how he learned the song in 3 weeks, then I realized he quite obviously skipped english class to play guitar, it’s obvious he’s a 14 year old douche bag. Listen… play at your own pace, keep practising and realise.. play the music because you enjoy it, not because you are a 14 year old arm chair quarterback. Good work, don’t let the douche bags discourage you
Cheers
Jamie

i’m starting to post videos as well of my learning curve.. keep up the good work..
some people are naturals and some have to work hard at it.. so for those posting comments only critising.. you need to step back and recognize..
also he is not a young boy .. the older you get the longer the learning curves become.. at least he’s sticking to it

cool that you were able to play full songs only in week 3. I guess I’m not as good of a guitar player but I’m ok with that. (I can’t sing either hahahah) – I play because I enjoy it and I have gotten better so as long as I’m happy I feel good about it.

You are 100% correct. I was playing G, D, AM instead of changing to G, D, C on the second time through. At the time I created the video I was having trouble getting the C cord to sound right so I just used the AM.
I really need to do another version because when I look back, it really seems pretty bad even though it was week 6 of me learning to play an acoustic guitar.

Uh not bad that was the first real song i leanred around the first few weeks of me playing a while ago but i noticed that for the 8 count chord you were playing an a minor each time i believe it changes though between aminor and a c chord.
