Thank you. Check out this video. jack owens/hard times (1981) He is another player like Skip James who played many songs in minor tuning. Yes, the tuning is very dark and mysterious. Enjoy.

Thank you. Unfortunately, it is a tune too close to our current reality. Open Vestapol minor tuning is rather spooky. I’m in C, CGCd#gc. The third string is tuned down from a major 3rd to a minor 3rd. Listen to Skip James. He played many songs in minor tuning. Enjoy.

Man, your version of this song sent chills down my back.

Thank you. Ya, they can get heavy after a while. That is why holding them in the classical guitar method works best. It is a very thick glass Italian wine bottle. Just drink a lot of wine and eventually you will find a real good bottle. Unfortunately, good bottle for slide does not always equal good wine. lol. Happy Holidays! Enjoy.

very nicely played, great sound.
those resonators weigh a tonne eh?
what kind of slide are you using? it looks like glass but it seems too straight to be a bottleneck

Thank you. Open C minor low to high CGCd#gc. Usually, if you look to the right of my videos, and click on more info, you will find the tuning information. Hey pal, can you tell me what note you’ve tuned each string in to for the minor sound? I love it

Thank you. I enjoyed arranging this song. I wanted to play the main melody line like a clarinet player. This song is in minor tuning, that is what gives it that “Great Depression” sound. Hope those days are not comin’ again. Soup and bread lines don’t sound like a hell of a lot of fun. That is what my Grandparents ate in the 1930s. He said it was a good day when you had stale bread to go with the pea soup.

I never heard this song before. I just listened to nearly every other version of it on YouTube. None of them had the impact of your version. 10 stars

Thank you. After listening to the original depression versions, I created this arrangement attempting to play the clarinet melody line using the slide.
