he uses a Digitech Whammy. It has an expression pedal built in, it is known for it’s poor tracking when you get to +2 octaves, and that seems to help the sound for some people.
you could use something like this, but Jack White uses the Whammy

Sounds like a Boss Octave, and an Envelope Filter.

does jack white use this. cuz one of the effects he used sounded similar to his stuff.
p.s.: cool hair, you should probably just re-dye the roots though.

you can add an expression pedal mod to it, many websites on line do it, just gotta google it and pay like $50 for them to mod it.
