    Maybe at slow speeds but use wrist for speed.

    you seem to be referring to strumming, not picking… (by mentioning chords)

    what you should do when picking is start with both down ups combined acoarding with the rythm

    after few exercises, few different rithms and some songs which make u change the pattern of strums it will come naturally

    i dont see why picking is a problem with most students? the only tricky part is when u want to strike the RIGHT strings for example D major has only 4 strings to be played while G major has 6….

    Thanks, another brilliant lesson. I also was struggling a bit with picking and plec stuff generally, can’t wait to apply this. Dave and Marty are a great combo. Dave brings the practical all-round advice, then you can apply that advice when Marty brings the funk. I’ve improved vastly since I discovered rockongoodpeople, can’t thank you guys enough!!!
