    He plays the intro with his fingers and I think sticks a pick on the pick guard and uses that to strum later

    Man, this is the best guitar lesson on youtube. This is the first time I actually learned something. I always played the opening as a Bm7, slid that down, then slid down C chord shapes. You showed me that was overly complicated. Great stuff.
