George Worthmore is an old friend of mine from the New York City blues scene, where he used to rock the legendary Dan Lynch blues bar with his band, The Divebombers. I hadn’t seen him in more than a decade when he showed up one night in Oxford, Mississippi.     Oh thats right its ‘Doc’s Guitar’ by Doc Watson from his self titled album, 1964. Haha and I was just listening to some Doc before watching this video…

    I’ve always felt that this was the kind of music I wanted to play. Very similar to Chet Atkins style.

    Loved the first song. very catchy. 5 stars, its cool to see this, specially in countrys where you will almost never see a blues jam in the street.

    Thanks for the posting! I remember the first time I saw GW & The Divebombers. They were opening for the Fabulous T Birds at NY’s original Lone Star cafe in the very early 80s. I remember his white socks/black shoes, gray suit & pork-pie hat and kick ass guitar.
