Should never take all your strings off at once(tip). The stoke hole needs to face the nut and your string has to be put on a certain way(should be to prevent slipage) which takes us to the 2 to 3 wraps around the stoke you’ll need so you need like 3 to 4 inches of slack. If you can get over 2 wraps you can get away without that certain way they should go on. Looking down on the guitar the top keys turn counterclockwise and bottom keys are clockwise. And new strings need a day or two to stretch.

acoustic is narrower toward the head

    No.

You buy a steel-string guitar, you buy steel strings.

You buy a classic guitar, you buy nylon.

    Most likely, this wouldn’t intertwine.

The different sizes in the nut. Saddles(the white thing near the bridge) are angled on steel string, nylon it’s just straight.

Many things. It just doesn’t work.

Go get yourself a classical, or tune your Acoustic guitar differently to get the sound you want.

Those tuners are a lot of the time innacurate… I find anyway….

Try tuning it to a piano (ideally an electric piano or keyboard considering they never go out of tune)

    PLEASE Help

I’m trying to put on my sixth string but as I’m strumming it with a pick as I’m tightening it this strange noise comes out. I’m thinking the string is too tight and is pressing against one of the fret separators (Noob to acoustic guitar, the gold vertical lines across the guitar on the neck). Just this clanging metal noise comes out.
