John you make it great, as always, to learn slide. This ones no different. You made an other easy lesson simple and understandable to a slow learner like myself. I want to hear about the methods you use for tones. Like I said your lessons are great and easy to follow keep it your way.

Thanks a lot for these vids, John. Do you keep the action on that guitar higher than on a guitar you were just going to play standard on?

Yeah, I was thinking that might be the ticket. You using 10′s? An older Tube Screamer would be better? I’ve been playing slide in standard for a while (nowhere near like you) and have recently drifted to open E (I was learning ‘Just Got Paid’). ‘The Allman Bros Live at the Beacon 2003′ DVD really made the light bulb go off as far as what the right hand should be doing. I actually bought my first SG the day after seeing Derek Trucks :) Thanks for the responses…

That’s awesome. I wish I had another one to play in standard tuning.

You might wanna try the Deluxe Reverb. That will be my next amp. The Princeton sounds great too. Older the better!

Cool! I have 3 of those 61 RI guitars (red, ebony, and white) and I love ‘em. I play through an Orange RV50 halfstack but I was looking for a smaller amp for around the house playing that really had good tone. I assume you have the 57′s in there? I left them in two of mine, but the white one just didn’t sound good so I put a BK Mule / Stormy Monday in it. It was like night and day…
