I have a Marshall 1/2 stack in my bedroom. Epiphone So Cal is the cheapest tube amp i have found and it sounds good with some pedals (if you are a metal head)

I was waiting for a sales pitch but it never happened. This guy talks the language of musos. My Epi SG, Digitech RP2000 and a set of decent cans fits my bill for “domestic use”. A couple of Session 90s work well when I want to get loud. It is all so personal. A vintage Gold Top through a Marshall stack is not gonna make you the new Gary Moore. This guy is a top bloke and knows what he’s talking about. Like to hear him play. Links please anyone xxxx

I think it’s pollite to not knock solid-state users… but even a mediocre tube amp at low volumes doesn’t have the brittleness of a solid-state amp. Solid states never sound as full and are less organic. I would never tell anyone to avoid a tube amp simply because they are bedroom jammers… just get a low watt tube amp… or an attenuator.

nice video, i need a new amp and i am trying to find one with a foot pedal to switch from clean channel to a channel of my choice (chorus, flanger etc…) im have trouble finding any amps with foot switches..
do you have to buy the foot switch separately?

im not a beginner guitar player, but ive only had one guitar with a basic amp…i know virtually nothing about effect pedals and amps.
i just brought my new guitar, an Ibanez RG350DX….and everyone has told me to get a “lin 6 toneport gx” but i have no idea what it actuallly is?!?
if someone could tell me, and explain a few things id be happy.
if i got the toneport gx, would i still need an amp? or does it connect straight to my pc? see i know nothing. thanks

best way to make your choice easier is only buy a tube. lol

Thanks this is a good video.
When starting out we don’t know $H1T it just takes time and trying everything we can get our hands on.
I had Fender RAD practice amp for 10 years, not enuf distortion, finally found Ibanez Tone Blaster 15W for room practice it’s awesome.
I don’t like Fender or Marshall because everyone has them.
I like my Gallein Kruger Backline 100 (SS) but it’s 10 years old, i wanted more modeling.
The Line 6 (75 watts) has great modeling but the sound got buried in bands

yeah dude
definitely save up and get something worth getting instead of getting whatever because you will certainly soon realize that you wasted that money because you will want something better and have to buy it anyway
get a good starting amp (like a 30 watt practice their all the same)
then maybe a better one like combo or 30 watt or something
but after that
definitely nothing useful besides getting teh real deal

I would suggest a tube amp is the only way to go Not only will they invariably sound better, they become an extension of the guitar as an instrument and not just something that makes it louder. Also, I would remind folks to never put a distortion effect through the effects loop.

Fender Champions are amazing, I love mine. Perfect for bedroom practice with a digitech RP350 in front of it. t00bs.
